Woman of Her Word generously provides grants designated towards the production of audio described media, accessible technology, graduate film scholarships, arts attendance and integration, as well as medical research.

MISSION STATEMENT:

Michele Spitz of Woman of Her Word philanthropy provides access to the arts for underserved communities through project-centered funding, as well as voiceover services for media-based programming. We strive to bring communities together through diverse partnerships and creative collaboration.

SECTORS IDENTIFIED FOR FUNDING:

Four sectors/categories have been identified for funding. Each year, the following sectors will be revisited and reevaluated for appropriate projects that align with the Woman of Her Word (WHW) mission and funding priorities:

  1. Audio description for films, museums and other media, particularly with Michele Spitz voicing the content.

  2. Disability-related projects separate/additional to audio description projects.

  3. Providing access to performances and excursions for specialized audiences who would not otherwise be able to participate, e.g., ticket underwriting.

  4. Organizational funding designated for accessibility including services, technologies and education.

PLEASE NOTE:

Funding will be for programs and equipment; funding for administrative operations is not anticipated.
